John Paul Osborn

ASQDE President - 2014-2016

John Paul Osborn was the 33rd President of the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners.​

John Paul Osborn holds a bachelor's degree from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania.

He is a private forensic document examiner in New Jersey and has been in fulltime practice since 1982.

He continues the practice founded circa 1910 by his great grandfather, Albert S. Osborn, the founding president of the ASQDE. Mr. Osborn apprenticed with his father, Paul A. Osborn, a past president of the ASQDE. He is also the grandson of Albert D. Osborn, another past president of the Society.
Prior to his election as President, John Paul Osborn served the ASQDE as Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and as a  Director. 

He is certified by the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners and is a member of the Questioned Document Section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.

He is also a member of the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists, the New Jersey Association for Forensic Scientists, and ASTM International.

He previously served as a member of a Scientific Working Group for Document Examination subcommittee for protocol development in the field, serving as interim chairperson in 1999. 

Mr. Osborn is the author of numerous scientific papers and has been published in the Journal of Forensic Sciences.  He was Editor of the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners Newsletter from 1991 through 1997.
