Thomas W. Vastrick

President

Thomas W. Vastrick was elected president in 2024. He was elected secretary in 2022, and previously served in that role from 2018 to 2020.  

Life Member since 2019.

Vastrick is in full-time private practice in Florida.  ABFDE certified.​

Jason Lee Miller

VICE PRESIDENT

Jason Miller, former ASQDE president, was re-elected vice president in 2024, after being appointed in 2023 to finish the term of the retiring vice president, in accordance with the Bylaws.

Regular Member since 2006.

Miller worked as a forensic document examiner for the Internal Revenue Service for several years and is currently in private practice. ABFDE certified.

Khody Detwiler

SECRETARY

Khody Detwiler was elected secretary in 2024, after serving as director of the ASQDE EC from 2022 to 2024. 

Regular member since 2020.

Detwiler is a principle at Lesnevich & Detwiler where he has been employed as a Forensic Document Examiner since 2008.

Laura Mancebo

TREasurer

Laura Mancebo was re-elected ASQDE treasurer in 2024, and has served in that role since 2020, re-elected in 2022.

Regular member since 2015. 

Mancebo is a Senior Document Examiner at Applied Forensics in New York. ​ABFDE certified.

Brenda Lanners

director

Brenda Lanners was elected director of the ASQDE EC in 2024, after a 2023 appointment to complete the current term of the resigning director. She previously served as director from 2020-2022 and also serves as chair of the Membership & Credentials committee.
 
Regular member since 2018.
 
Lanners is a forensic document examiner with the San Diego Sheriff's Crime Lab. ABFDE Certified.

Jeffrey Luber

director

Jeffrey Luber was elected director of the ASQDE EC in 2024. He also serves as chair of the Evaluation & Examination committee.

Life member since 2024. 

Luber is a forensic document examiner in private practice, and is ABFDE certified.

OFFICERS AND EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

According to the ASQDE Bylaws, only Regular Members and Life Members are entitled to hold office in the Society and to vote at General Meetings, but all other classes of Members are entitled to attend General Meetings and to participate therein.

The affairs and activities of the Society shall be managed by an Executive Committee comprised of the Officers of the Society, which shall be:
 
      a)   the President,
      b)   the Vice President,
      c)   the Secretary,
      d)   the Treasurer,
      e)   a minimum of two Directors.
 
These officers shall be elected to office by Ordinary Resolution at a General Meeting to serve, commencing 60 days following their election, for a period of two years or until their successors have been elected, provided that no office shall be filled by the same person for a period in excess of four years.
