Dr. Linton A. Mohammed is the 31st and current President of the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners.

Dr. Mohammed received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Biosciences from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia.  His thesis research concerns elucidating spatial and dynamic features to discriminate between signature disguise and signature forgery behavior.  Dr. Mohammed received a Bachelor of Science from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Forensic Sciences from National University, San Diego, CA. Dr. Mohammed is certified by the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners.  He also holds a Diploma in Forensic Document Examination from the Forensic Science Society.  He is currently an Adjunct Instructor in the Forensic Science Program at Oklahoma State University.

Beginning in 1986, Dr. Mohammed trained as a forensic document examiner at the Trinidad and Tobago Forensic Science Center, Port of Spain, Trinidad and later  worked at the Caribbean Institute of Forensic Investigations.  From 1993 to 1996, he worked as a forensic document examiner at the Laboratory of the Government Chemist in Teddington, Middlesex, England.  From 1996 to 2010, he worked as a forensic document examiner at the San Diego County Sheriff's Office Regional Crime Laboratory.  He also began a private practice as a forensic document examiner in 1997.  He is currently works as a private examiner in the firm of Rile, Hicks & Mohammed.

Prior to his election as President of the ASQDE, Dr. Mohammed served the Society as Vice President, Treasurer, and as a Director.  He is a Fellow of the the Questioned Document Section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.  He is also a member of the Southwestern Association of Forensic Document Examiners, the Forensic Science Society, the Canadian Society of Forensic Science, as well as the Forensic Science Committee and the Questioned Document Subcommittee of ASTM International.

Dr. Mohammed is the author of numerous research papers and articles.  He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners.  He is the coauthor of the book, The Neuroscience of Handwriting: Applications for Forensic Document Examination.
